We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix as a Senior Data Engineer in our Engineering & Delivery function with Group IT.

  • Job Type: Permanent
  • Location: Wythall, Telford, or Edinburgh (hybrid work model)

The Role

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design, implement, and optimize analytics solutions on cloud platforms, focusing on Databricks. You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to embed data and analytics into our business processes, improving customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize analytics infrastructure on cloud platforms like Azure.
  • Manage data storage, processing, and retrieval; develop data pipelines.
  • Act as the Databricks subject matter expert, developing notebooks for data exploration and modeling.
  • Enhance Databricks workflows for performance and scalability.
  • Integrate diverse data sources and ensure data security and compliance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define analytics needs and document processes.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer with cloud and Databricks expertise.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and analytics services.
  • Strong skills in Python, Scala, or SQL; experience with data modeling and warehousing.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
