Job Description
Job Type: Permanent
Location and flexible working: This role will ideally be based in our London office, but we are open to considering candidates in Edinburgh and the Midlands. There will be some flexibility to work between the office (minimum 3 days per week) and home. We recognise the benefits of flexible working and will discuss what is important to you, balancing this with business requirements during the recruitment process.

The Role
This is a unique opportunity to join a team at the forefront of Bulk Purchase Annuity (BPA) growth, where you\’ll collaborate with Pricing Actuaries and Managers to shape and manage a diverse portfolio of transactions.
You\’ll work closely with internal and external stakeholders such as Client Services to deliver robust data cleanses, implement GMP equalisation, and support the transition to buyout. From producing cash flow and pricing models to navigating complex, you\’ll play a key role in ensuring processes are followed, navigating complexities and identifying smart, tailored solutions.
You\’ll also support post-transaction pricing projects, ensuring contractual requirements and timescales are met with precision. You’ll be involved in building, maintaining, and enhancing actuarial models, and present technical insights with confidence.
This role offers a rich blend of analytical challenge, stakeholder engagement, and strategic impact.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
Be a part-qualified actuary making strong exam progress
Experience, Skills And Knowledge
- Practical experience of actuarial cash flow modelling, including development of models for bespoke projects and exercises, and application of actuarial methodologies for setting assumptions
- Strong technical knowledge of defined benefit pensions (including an understanding of modelling of GMP benefits, franking and deferred member benefit calculations)
- Strong problem solving, communication and analytical skills, and the ability to work quickly and accurately with a high attention to detail
- Ideally have an appreciation of financial services companies and the regulatory environment in which they operate, including Solvency II and the Matching Adjustment along with experience of bulk annuity modelling and pricing
