Job Description

Expression of Interest – Lawyer, Public Procurement & Subsidy Control (3–5 PQE)

Location: London, Midlands or Scotland

Our client, a leading UK law firm with a nationally recognised Competition, EU and Trade (CEUT) practice, is seeking to appoint a talented Lawyer with 3–5 years’ PQE to support its growing public procurement and subsidy control offering.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and forward-thinking team working at the forefront of procurement and subsidy control law in the UK. You will work with a diverse client base—including public bodies, utilities, and major private sector organisations—on complex, high-profile matters that often have national policy significance.

The role will involve advising on a wide range of legal issues, including procurement challenges under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015, interpreting and applying the new Procurement Act 2023, and advising on the UK’s subsidy control regime. You will also have the opportunity to support clients with wider EU State aid and trade law issues in the post-Brexit legal landscape.

We are particularly interested in speaking with lawyers who bring strong drafting and advisory skills, a pragmatic and commercially aware approach, and a genuine interest in working on matters of legal and public importance. While experience in UK subsidy control or EU State aid law is desirable, a willingness to develop expertise in this area is equally valued.

This is an excellent opportunity for a public procurement lawyer looking to take the next step in their career.
