Our vastly experienced and highly qualified team equips us with an extensive range of services, covering all areas of yacht management.
We are seeking an experienced, highly organized Interior Manager to join our team in Dubai. Applicants wishing to work remotely are invited to apply. Reporting to the Head of the Operational Department, this role serves to oversee and optimize the interior operations and standards across our managed fleet of superyachts. The ideal candidate will possess a profound understanding of luxury service, a keen eye for detail, and proven expertise in managing interior crew, inventory, and maintaining impeccable guest environments. This role is crucial in ensuring that the interior of each yacht consistently reflects the highest standards of presentation, service, and functionality for our clients. You will have a strong yachting background ideally as a Chief Stewardess / Interior Manager.
You would need to be flexible as there will be occasions when you are required to work additional hours outside of our core business hours to ensure service is covered. You will need to travel worldwide at short notice, as and when required. You will enjoy a fast-paced and varied role.
Objectives of this role
The role has multifaceted objectives, including ensuring the yacht's interior and galley is impeccably maintained, managing and supervising the interior crew, and overseeing guest services. The Interior Manager will play a role in project management for refits and upgrades, ensuring smooth operations and delivery of high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities
- Interior Crew Management & Development: Oversee and conduct interviewing, screening processes, recruitment, hiring and training of interior crew (e.g., Chief Stewards/esses, Stewards/esses, housekeeping, Laundry, Chefs) for managed yachts, in collaboration with the Crew Manager and vessel Captain. Provide ongoing mentorship, performance evaluations, and career development support to interior and galley teams. Develop and implement standardized operating procedures (SOPs/SAPs) for interior service, housekeeping, laundry, and guest relations. Conduct regular yacht inspections to assess interior crew performance and provide on-site guidance and training.
- Interior Operations & Standards: Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive interior management plans for each yacht, tailored to its specific needs and owner preferences. Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and organization are consistently maintained throughout all interior spaces. Oversee inventory management of interior provisions, fine china, glassware, linens, amenities, and guest supplies. Source and recommend high-quality interior products, including cleaning supplies, toiletries, and decorative items. Manage budgets related to interior outfitting, supplies, and crew training.
- Refit & Maintenance Oversight (Interior Focus): Collaborate with the Technical, Operational and Project Management teams during refits or new builds, specifically advising on interior layouts, materials, finishes, and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and aesthetics. Oversee the procurement and installation of new interior items, furniture, and fittings. Ensure proper maintenance and care of interior finishes, fabrics, and specialized equipment. Ensure that all interior systems and fixtures are functioning correctly. Complete regular visits on board inspecting the interior for wear and tear and initiating necessary repairs or replacements.
- Guest Experience & Owner Liaison: Work closely with the Client Manager to understand owner preferences and ensure the interior service exceeds expectations for all voyages and events. Provide expert advice to owners and captains on interior design, service protocols, and guest amenities. Troubleshoot and resolve any interior-related issues efficiently and discreetly.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all interior operations comply with relevant maritime regulations, health & safety standards, and environmental best practices. Oversee the proper storage and handling of chemicals and cleaning agents.
- Other Responsibilities: Maintaining a comprehensive list of interior suppliers and updating any changes to the Company CRM. Keeping abreast of the latest trends in yacht interior design and decoration. Participation in industry events and yacht shows. Providing expert guidance and support to the captain and other crew members.
Required skills and qualifications
- Minimum of 5-8 yearsβ experience in a senior interior role (e.g., Chief Steward/ess / Head Housekeeper).
- Proven experience in managing and training interior crew.
- Exceptional knowledge of luxury service standards and interior aesthetics.
- Strong understanding of interior product sourcing, inventory management and budgeting.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proactive problem-solver with strong decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with crew, clients and suppliers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with yacht management software such as pinpoint, IDEA is a plus.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, always thinking one-step ahead.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
- Ability to travel frequently, often on short notice, to visit yachts globally.
