We are now hiring a

Team Lead - Strategic Accounts (Healthcare) to lead our Strategic Accounts team and drive growth across a portfolio of key NHS and healthcare customers.

This role combines team leadership, strategic account development and customer engagement.

While you will be responsible for coaching, developing and supporting a team of experienced Account Managers, the primary focus is helping the team deepen customer relationships, identify new opportunities and position the full breadth of Phoenix’s solutions and services.

You will act as a senior commercial leader, engaging directly with customer stakeholders, supporting complex opportunities and helping shape solutions that deliver meaningful outcomes for healthcare organisations.

Success in this role will come from building strong customer relationships, driving strategic account growth and creating a high-performing team culture centred around customer success.

What will you be doing?

  • Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Strategic Account Managers.
  • Create a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration and customer success.
  • Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, pipeline reviews and account planning sessions.
  • Support Account Managers with opportunity qualification, account strategy and solution selling.
  • Drive accurate forecasting and support achievement of team objectives.
  • Encourage continuous professional development and skills growth across the team.
  • Customer Engagement & Relationship Management
  • Drive a proactive customer engagement strategy across healthcare accounts.
  • Support and attend strategic customer meetings alongside Account Managers.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across NHS organisations.
  • Expand relationships beyond procurement into operational, clinical and executive functions.
  • Ensure every strategic account has an active and effective account development plan.
  • Help customers understand the full breadth of Phoenix’s capabilities.
  • Position Phoenix as a trusted strategic partner and advisor.
  • Strategic Account Growth
  • Identify and develop new opportunities within existing customer accounts.
  • Increase Phoenix’s share of customer spend through strategic account management.
  • Develop and execute long-term account growth plans.
  • Drive cross-selling and wider adoption of Phoenix solutions and services.
  • Support early engagement in customer transformation programmes and strategic initiatives.
  • Help shape larger, more complex opportunities before formal procurement begins.
  • Solution Leadership
  • Lead commercial and solution-focused customer discussions.
  • Support customers in defining business and technology requirements.
  • Work with internal specialists to shape multi-vendor solutions.
  • Coordinate Phoenix resources to support complex opportunities and engagements.
  • Provide guidance throughout the sales lifecycle.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies, market trends and healthcare priorities.
  • Translate customer challenges into meaningful technology outcomes.
  • Vendor & Internal Collaboration
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic technology partners.
  • Work closely with Solutions, Professional Services and Managed Services teams.
  • Identify opportunities for joint customer engagement.
  • Coordinate workshops, executive briefings and customer events.
  • Ensure customers benefit from the full capability of the wider Phoenix business.

What are we looking for?

  • Proven success within enterprise IT sales or strategic account management.
  • Experience working with NHS, healthcare or wider public sector organisations.
  • Strong consultative selling and relationship management skills.
  • Experience growing and developing existing customer accounts.
  • Ability to engage confidently with senior and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and coaching capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to identify customer challenges and align appropriate solutions.
  • Broad understanding of enterprise technology and digital transformation.
  • Whilst not expected to be a technical specialist, you should possess sufficient commercial and technical understanding to lead meaningful customer conversations and engage the appropriate technical experts when required.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience within enterprise technology sales or account management.
  • Demonstrable experience managing and growing strategic customer accounts.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring or leading sales professionals.
  • Experience working within healthcare or NHS environments strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of NHS procurement and healthcare transformation desirable.
  • Experience working with multiple technology vendors beneficial.
  • Understanding of managed services and professional services desirable.

Primary location is our HQ in Pocklington (YO42).

How many interviews?

Following a screen with the Recruitment Team, you can expect a two-stage interview process, one online and one in-person.
