The Neighborhood at Sheffield is seeking an Activities Director (Program & Outreach Director) to join their team. The Program and Outreach Director reports directly to the Executive Director. The role is responsible for developing, leading and overseeing a resident-centered activities and outreach program that promotes and integrates the Phoenix Senior Living philosophy, incorporating wellness in all aspects of the seniors' lives we serve.
Responsibilities
- Develop, lead and oversee resident-centered activities and outreach programs.
- Recruit, hire and train the Assistant Program & Outreach Director.
- Participate in Personalized Service Plans (PSP) and refer to the Resident Profile and addendum for every new resident.
- Ensure a variety of appropriate and personalized activities that incorporate all dimensions of wellness and are available throughout the day and evening with resident care associate participation.
- Maintain the PSL Activity & Program Guidebook and track daily resident interests and participation.
- Use residents' demographic profiles to organize small groups or clubs that address similar needs and preferences.
- Recognize changes in resident condition and take appropriate action.
- Assist residents to and from activity rooms and in memory care settings.
- Assist with inventory of activity and programming supplies, games, programs and crafts.
- Schedule, communicate, assist with facilitation and record the monthly resident Council.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Administration, Gerontology or related field (preferred).
- 1–3 years' experience in senior living or skilled nursing activity & event planning, with moderate to large event planning responsibilities.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Knowledge and experience in Assisted Living industry and dementia care preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Stand/Walk: 0–2 hours at a time, 4–6 hours per day.
- Walk/Sit: 0–2 hours at a time, 2–4 hours per day.
- Drive: 30–60 minutes, 1–2 times a week.
- Lift/Carry: 50 lbs. frequently, 150 lbs. occasionally; 40 lbs. frequently, 70 lbs. occasionally.
- Other: Bend, squat, kneel, climb frequently; reach occasionally up to 3 feet.
