Remote Pilot – Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS)
Phoenix Solutions & Consulting have partnered with a leading civil and military Unmanned aircraft operator who are seeking experienced Remote Pilots to support the delivery of uncrewed aviation operations. You will play a key role in monitoring live missions, supporting safe flight execution, responding to operational hazards, and ensuring compliance with aviation regulations and internal safety standards. This role suits someone who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys solving real-world operational challenges, and is motivated to improve uncrewed systems through feedback and continuous learning. The position involves regular travel to operational and customer locations across the UK & Europe.
Key Responsibilities- Support mission delivery alongside the Remote Pilot in Command (RPIC) and wider flight operations team
- Monitor flight activity in real time and assist in managing operational risk
- Ensure compliance with aviation regulations and organisational procedures
- Maintain accurate operational records, including flight logs and safety reports
- Assist with flight planning, pre-flight preparation, and post-flight debriefs
- Provide guidance in the event of abnormal situations, system failures, or emerging hazards
- Train and mentor operators in best practice, safety, and risk mitigation
- Maintain personal competency and currency on assigned aircraft systems
- 3+ years’ experience supporting or conducting operational uncrewed aircraft flights
- Strong understanding of aviation procedures, airspace awareness, and safe mission execution
- Familiarity with applicable UAS regulatory frameworks and operational compliance standards
- Technical aptitude and confidence working with complex aerospace or autonomous systems
- Experience in safety-critical environments, including risk assessment and real-time decision-making
- Comfortable supporting flight planning, mission preparation, and post-mission analysis
- Strong communication skills, including coordination with operational teams and stakeholders
- Training, mentoring, or instructional experience is an advantage
- Ability to meet customer and project requirements in regulated or secure operating environments
- Right to work in the UK and ability to obtain Security Clearance
- Fluent English communication skills (professional level)
