One of the largest commercial FM & real estate providers globally have a requirement for an M&E manager to be based at one of the campus buildings for a Higher Education contract in East London. Working as part of a team and reporting into contract/account management, this role will take responsibility for day-to-day operations & delivery, ensuring compliance and reducing operational risk in partnership with the engineering team and support staff. Guideline salary for this position is £60,000 basic salary, along with company pension and a healthy training budget.

Candidates will be fully qualified in an engineering discipline (mech or elec), ideally through a full apprenticeship, and have at least 5 years experience in a Supervisory/Management position within a similar commercial/corporate environment. Along with core technical qualifications, additional training such as IOSH, NEBOSH, ILM, etc will be beneficial.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Provide operational capacity to react to unforeseen tactical operational issues, reducing risk and ensuring compliance.
  • Be the primary strategic and operational support point for the Account Director & Area Manager.
  • Oversee operational activity in relation to key tactical operations requests across the contract.
  • Oversee and fulfil all associated client reporting activities.
  • Responsible for ensuring the team work to a transparent set of shared objectives.
  • Provide subject matter advice and guidance to ensure the best delivery solution is delivered to the Client, including innovative and practical solutions.
  • Lead annual programmes, such as procurement and asset verifications in conjunction with key SLT members.
  • Drive continuous improvement through leading tactical project delivery reviews.
  • Drive superior account performance to support the client business and contractual objectives.
  • Develop short and long term objectives to enhance service delivery levels, measure, deliver and report against these.
  • Ensure full contract compliance on operational, risk, and compliance matters.
  • Measure the contract’s performance against agreed targets and scorecard compliance.
  • Lead by example in all supply partner relationships, ensuring all team members are managing and partnering with vendors professionally and efficiently, building best in class relationships.
  • Support supply partner management by leading any Hypercare requirement and Value for Money reconciliations.
  • Ensure companies technology platform is optimised to support the client’s operational needs and commercial value.
  • In partnership with Service Managers and the wider Operational team, ensure all account Playbooks are evergreen and meeting the needs of the account.
