A leading global advisory firm is seeking a Senior Vertical Transportation Engineer to join their forward-thinking Engineering & Design Consultancy in London. This role offers significant career and training progression, with a salary of £50,000-£55,000, including a car allowance, 15% annual bonus, pension, health care, technology pack (phone/laptop), and 26 days holiday.
This position is not maintenance-focused; it involves vertical transportation consultancy at the forefront of the built environment. The successful candidate will advise institutional landlords, global investors, managing agents, developers, and occupiers, helping them make informed, low-risk, future-proof decisions about their lift and escalator portfolios.
Who You’ll Work With:
- Prime City & West End commercial offices

- Large-scale estate portfolios
- High-profile retail and destination assets
- Complex, multi-asset property portfolios owned by FTSE-listed and global investors
You will work directly with Property Managers, Facilities teams, Surveyors, Project Managers, and Building Consultants, influencing decisions at both asset and portfolio levels.
About the Role:
- Delivering VT site surveys, audits, and condition reports
- Producing lifecycle and capital planning reports for lift and escalator assets
- Acting as technical lead on VT replacement and modernisation projects
- Advising on refurbishments, major works, and development schemes
- Managing consultants, contractors, and OEMs
- Providing trusted VT advice to internal teams and clients
- Raising standards, reducing risk, and improving long-term asset performance
What Our Customer is Looking For:
- You’re not just technical — you’re commercial, confident, and credible.
Essential:
- 5+ years’ experience in the Lift & Escalator industry
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Lift & Escalator Engineering
- Strong technical knowledge across passenger lifts, goods lifts & escalators
- Experience producing professional reports for clients
- Comfortable operating in a client-facing consultancy environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable:
- Experience working with property portfolios or managing agents
- Exposure to asset management, lifecycle planning, or advisory roles
