As a Data Centre HVAP Technician, you’ll oversee both planned and reactive maintenance activities, working closely with the Building Engineering Supervisor and Engineering Shift Leader. You’ll play a pivotal role in keeping complex building systems operating safely and reliably, while ensuring all work is completed in full compliance with site policies, procedures, and health and safety legislation.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform routine and reactive maintenance on building plant, equipment, and systems, ensuring SLAs are met or exceeded.
  • Respond to BMS alarms and carry out emergency repairs quickly and efficiently.
  • Manage the Permit to Work system, ensuring all controls, documentation, and authorisations are in place.
  • Produce and follow switching schedules, SOPs, and EOPs in line with Safe Systems of Work.
  • Maintain evaporative cooling and domestic water systems, complying with L8 regulations.
  • Ensure the availability of spare parts to support maintenance activities.
  • Keep accurate, up-to-date records via REALM task sheets.
  • Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments to guarantee safe working practices.
  • Supervise subcontractors and ensure compliance with contracts and site processes.
  • Build strong working relationships with CBRE colleagues and client representatives.
  • Maintain a safe working environment in line with company and client Health & Safety policies.
  • Represent CBRE professionally, providing high standards of customer service.
  • Continuously develop your professional and technical competence through training and development opportunities.
  • Support incident management during unplanned events or site faults.
  • Carry out all HVAP responsibilities associated with the role.
Experience & Skills Required

Essential:

  • HV Authorisation
  • Current Wiring Regulations certification
  • Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
  • Emergency First Aid at Work qualification
  • Proven experience managing incidents or faults in a business-critical environment
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role within a comparable organisation
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation for maintenance activities
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Numerate, literate, with meticulous attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, with high integrity and commitment to safe working practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Well-organised, capable of working under pressure
  • Professional, courteous, and presentable, with regular client interaction
  • Ability to safely ascend and descend vertical access equipment
  • Flexible approach to working hours

Desirable:

  • Manual Handling training
  • PASMA and IPAF certifications
  • Knowledge of interlinked systems (Fire, PMS, BMS)
