Our client is a global property and real estate organisation, with a number of high profile accounts across corporate offices, healthcare, financial services and other sectors in the commercial built environment. They currently seek a multi-skilled (electrical or mechanical bias) Shift Leader to work at a long-held customer site, based close off Oxford Street, London.
The site operates on the coveted “days-only” shift pattern, 7am-7pm only, providing the best of both worlds through extensive time off but no overnight shifts. The role will involve taking responsibility for planned and reactive duties across mechanical, electrical and general HVAC / Building Services for the building and managing a shift engineer as well as involvement with the Monday-Friday team’s operation.
Salary for this position is ÂŁ48,000 basic salary, on top of which is a shift allowance of ÂŁ5,000, opportunity for overtime and a healthy training budget. The building itself is a corporate multi-tenant, with the M&E provider covering both landlord as well as tenant areas and seeks strong multi-skilled engineers who can combine a technical mindset with a customer-focused approach.
Candidates must be fully qualified in either electrical or mechanical engineering (ideally through a full apprenticeship), with at least five years of relevant experience within a similar M&E / building services maintenance role within a similar M&E maintenance environment.
Along with core engineering qualifications, other desirable qualifications include L8, F-Gas, 2391, IOSH/NEBOSH. Particular working knowledge should extend to:

- Emergency Lighting
- Fire Alarms
- Pumps & Motors
- Air Handling & Fan Coil Units
- BMS Operation
- Water Treatment (Taps, Cooling Towers)
- Pressurisation Units
- VRV/VRFs
- Diesel Generators
- UPS Systems
- HV / LV Distribution (AP Status, Switching & Site Shutdowns, Permits)
- 1st line Chiller & Boiler Faults
