The Data Centre HVAP Technician oversees and supervises planned and reactive maintenance activities in collaboration with the building Engineering Supervisor and Shift Leader. They liaise with Engineering management and client personnel to ensure adherence to site policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations. The role involves operating as an Authorised Person, ensuring completion of safety paperwork to high standards and in line with company policies.
Role Summary:
- Ensure routine maintenance on building plant, equipment, and systems to meet or exceed expectations and SLAs.
- Respond promptly to BMS alarms and perform emergency repairs.
- Implement and enforce controls within Permit to Work systems.
- Develop switching schedules, SOPs, and EOPs according to company policies and SSOW.
- Maintain evaporative cooling and domestic water systems per L8 standards.
- Ensure availability of spare parts.
- Maintain maintenance records using REALM task sheets.
- Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments for in-house tasks.
- Supervise subcontractors and ensure compliance with contractual and site policies.
- Foster positive relationships with staff and clients.
- Promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with all policies.
- Present a professional image to clients and visitors, and uphold excellent customer service.
- Commit to personal development and ensure work packs include necessary documentation.
- Review subcontractor RAMS.
- Provide incident support for unplanned incidents or faults.
- HVAP responsibilities are integral to this role.
Experience / Skillset Required:
- Manual Handling Training advantageous.
- HV Authorisation is essential.
- Current Wiring Regulations certificate.
- Level 3 NVQ in related discipline.
- Emergency First Aid at Work qualification.
- Experience in incident/fault management in a business-critical environment.
- Understanding of health and safety obligations.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Numerate and literate.
- Diligence in safe working practices.
- Self-motivated with high integrity.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Organized, with good prioritization skills.
- Courteous and presentable, with client exposure.
