Job Overview: Sushi Chef in Battersea, South West London. Immediate start. Paid weekly (every Friday) for 3 months, then moved onto a monthly pay plus benefits after probation. Monday to Friday ONLY, 6:30am to 3:30pm. £16 per hour.
I'm recruiting a sushi chef that has experience and knowledge of preparing sushi dishes that often feature raw fish and rice. Duties include developing menus for sushi bars, prepping ingredients, and adhering to food safety, health, and hygiene standards. Ensuring the sushi bar operates efficiently and maintains a clean work environment to prevent food contamination.
Sushi chefs must have a keen eye for detail and a steady hand, as you are responsible for the visual appeal and quality of the dishes. You also need to be knowledgeable about the culinary techniques required for sushi preparation and must work well under pressure.
You will be working in a kitchen that provides breakfast and lunch for approximately 600 people a day. Working on the sushi section, there are 3 chefs on the section who will cut and fillet fish to dishes such as fresh Sashimi. The sushi chefs will be producing 10 different options a week (approximately 270 per day), 2 different poke options, and 2 special sides.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a bespoke pizza oven and kitchen equipment of dreams. As a chef de partie, you will have a 2nd chef de partie to support you and will be required to take the lead and manage this specific section.
To be considered for this role, you will need to register with Phoenix Resourcing Services (PRS), have rights to work in the UK, and be free within 1 week to start (ideally). There will be an interview and trial prior to offering the position.
