The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual looking to progress their career. You will be responsible for overseeing your own accounts and dealing directly with customers. Duties will include:
- Attending fit sessions with clients and taking notes.
- Amending paper patterns and managing the fit process through to production, which will comprise specifications sheets and photos.
- Having a comprehensive understanding of pattern construction and balance.
- Amending paper patterns according to fit comments and ensuring fit and sizing meet customer requirements.
- Liaising with customers, factories, and quality controllers while creating detailed tech packs.
- Maintaining grading and sizing rules for each garment type.
The Candidate:
The successful candidate needs to have at least 1 year of pattern experience, which is essential, along with previous experience as a garment technician with a supplier. Candidates should be confident, organised, and able to prioritise their workload, with strong attention to detail and quality. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required. The ability to work well as part of a team and adhere to agreed critical paths is essential. While grading is done externally, knowledge of grading is required. Candidates should possess excellent fabric knowledge across woven and jersey materials, from delicate to structured fabrics, including sewing techniques. Expertise in fitting garments is necessary, as candidates will be required to advise customers during fit meetings on the pattern amendments needed to achieve the desired look. Proficiency in Excel is essential.
