Staff Accountant

Job Title: Staff Accountant – Investment Company

Responsibilities

• Monthly and year-end closings: Perform essential tasks such as bank reconciliation, review of accounts payable and accounts receivable, balance sheet reconciliation, and P&L analysis.
• Internal reporting: Generate and distribute financial reports throughout the monthly close, providing valuable insights to support decision‑making.
• External audits: Collaborate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits, assisting with their requests and ensuring compliance.
• Journal entries: Prepare and post monthly and ad‑hoc journal entries under minimal supervision, maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date financial records.
• Ledgers and schedules: Update depreciation, amortization, and inventory ledgers and schedules, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions.
• Ad‑hoc reporting and special projects: Contribute to various financial analysis projects and assist with ad‑hoc reporting requests, providing valuable insights to support business initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor\’s degree in accounting: Possess a strong educational foundation in accounting principles and practices.
• 2+ years of accounting experience: Demonstrate a solid background in accounting operations, preferably in a corporate or financial services environment.
• 1+ years QuickBooks experience: Proficiency in using QuickBooks or similar accounting software is required.
• E-commerce exposure (Preferred): Experience in e-commerce accounting would be advantageous, as it aligns with our company\’s investment focus.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP: Display a deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and their application.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills: Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, conveying complex financial information clearly and concisely.
