Phoenix Medical Group Ltd is a healthcare innovation and development platform supplying trusted products and services to healthcare professionals across the UK and Europe. We are expanding our commercial team and are looking for an experienced Business Development Executive to deliver departmental KPIs, strengthen pharmacy wholesale activity, and accelerate growth across NHS tenders and major retail accounts in the wellbeing and OTC market.

This role suits someone who already understands how UK pharmacy wholesale operates, has hands-on exposure to NHS tender work, and is confident approaching and developing business with large retailers and national pharmacy chains.

What you’ll get

  • Competitive starting salary plus uncapped bonus
  • Staff discounts and on-site parking
  • Structured onboarding and ongoing support
  • Progression opportunities in a high-accountability, growth-focused environment

What you’ll be doing

  • Deliver agreed KPIs through pipeline management, forecasting, and disciplined sales execution
  • Develop and manage pharmacy wholesale business: account development, pricing support, promotions coordination, and order-to-delivery liaison with internal teams
  • Support NHS tender projects end-to-end: identifying opportunities, coordinating documentation, managing timelines, supporting submissions, and post-award implementation
  • Build and progress relationships with major retailers and national chains in the wellbeing/OTC space (e.g., Boots and other national partners), including introductions, range proposals, and commercial negotiations support
  • Drive new business activity through structured outreach (calls, email, follow-up) and conversion into qualified opportunities
  • Support channel development and partnership activity (wholesale, trade, and strategic accounts), including onboarding and performance monitoring
  • Prepare sales materials for pitches, range reviews, product demonstrations, and account meetings
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, activity reporting, and performance updates to support decision-making
  • Represent Phoenix Medical Group at exhibitions, conferences, and client visits where required

What we’re looking for (essential)

  • Relevant experience in pharmacy wholesale, trade sales, or UK healthcare distribution (wellbeing/OTC exposure preferred)
  • Practical experience working on NHS tender projects (direct involvement in coordination/submissions, not just general awareness)
  • Proven ability to approach and engage large retailers or national pharmacy chains (category/range discussions, introductions, or account development)
  • Strong commercial communication skills with stakeholders at different levels—phone, video, and in-person
  • Comfortable working with targets, reporting, and CRM discipline
  • High attention to detail, strong organisation, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines

Desirable

  • Familiarity with retailer onboarding, ranging, promotions, and trading terms in the OTC/wellbeing market
  • Understanding of procurement processes and compliance expectations in the NHS/healthcare supply
  • Experience supporting national account managers or tender teams

If you have pharmacy wholesale experience, can contribute meaningfully to NHS tender projects, and are confident in building relationships with major retailers in the OTC/wellbeing market, we would like to hear from you. Please send your updated CV to hr and we will initiate the conversation.
