About the Role

Are you a commercially minded buyer with experience in purchasing and a passion for delivering great value?

We’re looking for an

UK PI Buyer to join our Commercial team in Runcorn.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing the commercial performance of our PI molecule portfolio, negotiating competitive costs, securing product volumes and ensuring we maintain availability during periods of market shortage.

You’ll work at the heart of our commercial operation, building strong relationships with suppliers and collaborating closely with colleagues across Pricing, Supply Chain, Replenishment, Operations, Telesales and Commercial teams.

This is a fast-moving role where market conditions can change quickly, so we’re looking for someone who can think commercially, analyse information and act decisively.

  • What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead commercial negotiations for UK PI molecules, securing the best possible cost prices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Work proactively to maximise product availability across the business.
  • Identify supplier opportunities and new molecules that could come to market.
  • Monitor market movements and respond to changes in cost prices and product availability.
  • Work closely with the Pricing and Telesales teams to ensure pricing remains competitive.
  • Partner with the Commercial Proposition team to understand and respond to market pricing movements.
  • Contribute actively to category and pricing meetings.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Replenishment and Depot teams to manage product availability.
  • Identify and address overstock and understock within your area, working closely with Supply Chain and Replenishment.
  • Ensure clear and effective communication across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who combines strong commercial judgement with excellent communication and analytical skills.

You'll ideally have

  • A purchasing background within the

PI category , preferably gained in a fast-moving, high-pressure trading environment.

  • Experience developing and implementing commercial initiatives.
  • Experience working within complex organisations where strong internal communication is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organisation, time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A proactive and innovative approach, with the ability to identify opportunities and turn them into action.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.

Knowledge of pharmacy reimbursement models and industry pricing agreements , including Drug Tariff changes, Category M and VPAS/VPAG, would also be highly advantageous.
