Hours: Monday to Friday – We’re looking for an experienced Senior Employee Relations Advisor to deliver a high-quality, risk-aware, and solutions-focused ER service across our diverse organisation of 5,500+ colleagues. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is passionate about driving fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes.
What you’ll do:
- Act as a senior point of contact for complex ER matters, providing expert advice and guidance.
- Manage high-volume ER casework including disciplinary, grievance, performance, and absence management.
- Handle ACAS conciliation, mediation, and prepare case bundles for Employment Tribunals.
- Coach and mentor managers and junior ER colleagues to build capability and confidence.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners and senior leaders to influence ER strategy and embed best practice.
- Contribute to policy development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Travel across our UK sites as needed to support complex cases and deliver training.
What we’re looking for:
- Extensive experience as a Senior ER Advisor or Specialist in a high-volume environment (Retail or Distribution preferred).
- Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and ER best practice.
- CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience with ACAS conciliation, mediation, and Employment Tribunal preparation.
- Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- High integrity, professionalism, and ability to handle sensitive information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (iTrent experience is a plus).
