Job Summary

The role is countywide, based in Truro, with expectation to travel anywhere in Cornwall. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the team psychologist.

Eligibility

This vacancy is only open to existing NHS employees of:

  • Cornwall Foundation Trust
  • Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust
  • Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board

Main duties

  • Engage with development and facilitate a new groupwork pathway within the service
  • Carry out assessment and direct interventions under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist
  • Support multi‑disciplinary multi‑agency teams and work with staff, families and carers
  • Contribute to teaching, training and research in the department
  • Carry a clinical caseload under supervision
  • Support research projects and provide audits and other data collection and analysis
  • Support consultations and training of staff outside the service

Person Specification

Essential

  • Psychology degree accredited by BPS, eligible for graduate membership of BPS
  • Up‑to‑date knowledge of psychology
  • Experience working with mental health problems and/or other disabilities
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Psychologist
  • Good knowledge of applying psychological theory to practice
  • Hold a valid UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Experience working with people with severe mental illness (e.g., eating disorders) and their families/carers

Disclosure and Barring Service Check Subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. Disclosure to DBS required.
