This post is open to newly qualified professionals and those returning to practice. We are offering an opportunity to join the Cornwall Children’s Community Speech and Language Therapy service as a Speech and Language Therapist in our Central locality team. The role involves working with a mixed 0‑18 years caseload in community settings, education settings, home visits and clinic appointments across St Austell and Newquay.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate interventions and therapy for a 0‑18 years mixed community caseload.
  • Provide clinical support in education settings, home visits and clinic appointments.
  • Deliver assessment and intervention and provide consultation and training to families, educators and other health professionals.
  • Work 3 days in the St Austell area and two days within the Newquay area.
  • Possibility to develop a mixed communication and dysphagia caseload for applicants with the appropriate competencies.

Requirements

  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent) and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Undergraduate paediatric clinical experience in a range of settings.
  • Knowledge of assessment tools and therapeutic interventions for children, including differential diagnosis and caseload management strategies.
  • Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (desirable).
