Job Overview

This is an exciting, new opportunity to work within the Community Mental Health Service In the East.

The Clinical Lead will provide expert advice, line management, clinical leadership, caseload management, supervision and training to the team and will be responsible for ensuring the consistent provision of high quality mental health care to people in secondary services in the community adult mental health settings

The post holder will work with the senior leadership team to ensure the effective, efficient and sustained development of assessment services. The Clinical Leads will work closely with the Service Leads, Team Managers, Governance Team, Quality Lead and Operational Leads as well as our colleagues in Primary Care and Voluntary Sector services, to achieve high quality innovative care in the adult mental health settings with a focus on embedding the principles of reablement and trauma informed care.

Main duties of the job

Plan, implement and evaluate individual care plans in partnership with service users, carers, and the health and social care community.

Undertake comprehensive risk assessments and implement risk management strategies.

Work closely with families and carers where appropriate to reduce psychological distress associated with the caring role

Monitor, evaluate and action plan team members with regards to their clinical performance

Work closely with other teams within the Trust coupled with the Voluntary, Statutory, and independent sectors, implementing key success criteria for NICE regarding diagnosis, treatment, and management plans.

Participate in Safeguarding

Provide expert advice pertaining to complex cases

Responsible for maintaining Clinical Governance Standards

Person specification Education / Qualifications and Relevant Experience Essential criteria

  • Professional qualification RMN/AHP
  • Substantial experience of working in adult mental health settings
  • Current professional registration NMC/HCPC

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of working with substance misuse
  • Management / Leadership qualifications or current study

Skills and Aptitude Essential criteria

  • Comprehensive Risk Assessment Skills
  • Ability to lead, motivate and supervise a team of staff demonstrating the highest clinical standards

Desirable criteria

  • Level 3 safeguarding Childrens qualification

Knowledge and abilities Essential criteria

  • Sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 and other mental health legislation
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the principles and knowledge base underpinning assessment and intervention
