Role Description

This is a full-time office based/hybrid/remote role based in Cardiff. The Costs Lawyer/Draftsman will be responsible for preparing bills of costs and costs budgets, handling client file reviews, conducting costs negotiations, and representing clients at costs assessments. Additional tasks include drafting points of dispute and replies, as well as providing advice related to costs recovery, ensuring compliance with current case law and best practices.

Qualifications

• Expertise in preparing bills of costs, costs budgets, and experience with costs recovery practices
• Proficiency in costs negotiations, drafting points of dispute/replies, and attending costs assessments
• Strong knowledge of legal procedures, case law, and changes related to costs law and guidelines
• Excellent organisational, analytical, and time-management skills
• Ability to work autonomously and adapt to a hybrid working environment
• Effective communication and client relationship management skills
• Costs Lawyer qualification or equivalent experience; previous experience in costs recovery is highly beneficial
