Salary: £45,452.16pa based on working 36 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Learning and Training Manager role within Phoenix Learning Academy. You will be at the heart of shaping how our team members learn, develop, and thrive. Leading the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of our training and qualifications offer, ensuring every learning experience is high‑quality, inclusive, meaningful in practice, and fully aligned with our Phoenix values, therapeutic approach, legal responsibilities, and sector best practice. You will be responsible for guiding and inspiring our Trainer team, overseeing the academic and training calendar, and taking ownership of curriculum planning for internal training and qualifications. Working closely with the Qualification and Inclusion Manager, you’ll help maintain a strong, consistent quality cycle across the Phoenix Learning Academy, making sure our learning culture is something we’re proud of. You will progress to be the OFSTED nominee.
A day in the life of a Learning and Training Manager will involve:
- Lead the day‑to‑day operation of the Phoenix Learning Academy, ensuring high‑quality, inclusive, engaging and compliant training across all services.
- Manage, coach and develop Trainers and Associate PRICE Trainers, driving consistent, inclusive, confident and effective delivery.
- Design, review and implement impactful training programmes and accredited qualifications that meet operational, legal and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the full training and academic calendar, ensuring learning is well‑planned, well‑resourced and aligned to organisational priorities whilst considering value for money.
- Maintain high standards of delivery through observation, feedback and quality assurance, including acting as the organisational lead for PRICE / Physical Intervention training.
- Take responsibility for serving as the academy’s Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring a strong, proactive safeguarding culture.
To be a successful Learning and Training Manager, you’ll need:
- Proven ability to design and deliver high‑quality, inclusive and engaging training, with a strong understanding of how our Team Members learn.
- Deep understanding of the Therapeutic Approach which is embedded into all daily practices.
- Confident leadership and coaching skills, and experience developing Trainers and supporting high‑quality delivery.
- Strong curriculum planning, resource development and quality assurance capability, including using feedback and data to drive improvement.
- Excellent communication, facilitation and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leaders and teams across multiple settings.
- Solid professional knowledge base, including safeguarding, health and safety, IT proficiency and the ability to travel to all Phoenix locations when required.
