Job Title: Specialist Occupational Therapist Job Location: The Grange, Thatcham, RG19 Salary: Between £32,198.65 – £39,407.31, based on working 40 hours per week, 42 weeks per year Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time and Part Time Considered – Term Time only. Are you an experienced Specialist Occupational Therapist? As a pivotal member of our team, you\’ll have the autonomy to shape the future of our occupational therapy services. You’ll collaborate with our passionate and innovative integrated therapy team to deliver the highest standard of care and support to our pupils, making a real impact every day. In this role, you\’ll have the opportunity to identify and address the strengths and challenges your pupils face in their daily lives. Beyond conducting assessments, you\’ll be deeply involved in creating personalised therapy programs tailored to each pupil’s unique needs. A day in the life of a Specialist Occupational Therapist will involve: Taking a Neurodiverse affirming and trauma-informed approach to clinical work, working within a small caseload of pupils who have neurodiverse needs . Assessing, writing indirect therapy programmes, providing advice and consultations, and delivering direct therapy. Working alongside the integrated therapy team, consisting of Speech and Language Therapists and Creative Art Therapists. Designing and delivering specific training and mentoring for your colleagues with the support of the Clinical Lead to further develop the Occupational Therapy offering within our specialist college. To be a successful Specialist Occupational Therapist you’ll need: A recognised post-graduate qualification in Occupational Therapy with an essential qualification in Sensory Integration and Processing, along with HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist with RCOT Membership Great experience as an Occupational Therapist The experience and ability to complete or contribute to capacity assessments. Good IT skills – We’ll train you on how to use our systems, but it would help if you had a working understanding of using Microsoft packages like Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams. A full driving licence. Whilst this role is based in a single location, travel to other sites will be required at times including travel to our Tiverton Hub for team meetings and training where required. In return for your time, you’ll get: Holidays – You’ll get 28 days annual leave, including public holidays. You’ll also get an extra day off on your birthday after being with us for a year!
