About The Role
Job Title: School Cleaner
Job Location: Acorn School, Winkleigh EX19 8EY
Salary: £12.30 per hour – Part Time
Part-Time: Either 20 hours per week (52 weeks per year) or 30 hours per week (39.2 weeks per year), Monday to Friday, with afternoon shifts available between 1:00pm and 5:00pm.
Contract Type: Permanent

We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic School Cleaner to join our amazing team at Acorn School, someone who knows that cleanliness isn’t just about appearance but about creating a space where children can thrive and Team Members can do their best work.
Your role is essential. The work you do each day helps shape the heart of our school. From spotless classrooms that help children focus, to fresh and hygienic toilets that make pupils feel cared for, to tidy Team Members areas that support our teachers. You’ll be making a real difference.

A day in the life of a Cleaner will involve:
- Keep all areas of the school clean and tidy, including classrooms, kitchen, toilets, reception, offices, and shared spaces
- Make sure everything meets high hygiene standards, and comply with Health & Safety
- Being a helpful and happy part of the school team
- Inform Maintenance of any repairs or safety concerns
To be a successful Cleaner, you’ll need to:
- Work well and cooperate with education team members in a busy environment.
- A positive attitude and a passion for cleanliness.
- Be supportive, flexible, and committed to achieving great results.
- Experience in a cleaning role is preferred but not essential, you’ll be required to carry out physical cleaning tasks.
