Why Do We Want You

Because at Phoenix Health & Safety (part of Wilmington plc) we’re growing fast, and we need a creative E Learning Designer who knows how to turn important topics into engaging learning experiences people genuinely enjoy. As one of the UK’s leading providers of health & safety training, we’re all about raising the bar in digital learning, and your blend of graphic design skills, Adobe Creative expertise, and UI/UX awareness could make a real impact here. If you love shaping content that helps people learn better, enjoy creating original graphics and animations, and want to work with a team that values fresh ideas, we’d love to hear from you!

Job Purpose, Tasks and Responsibilities:

In this role, you’ll focus on enhancing the design and usability of our digital learning courses making them engaging, interactive, and visually impactful for Phoenix’s clients. You won’t be involved in developing or delivering the course syllabus itself; your focus will be on ensuring that the learning experience is intuitive, user-friendly, and visually appealing. This is a great opportunity to apply your graphic design skills within an e-learning context, working to improve how our content is presented and experienced.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Supporting the delivery of our Product strategy.
  • Reviewing and improving our existing e Learning courses so they’re high quality, modern and engaging.
  • Developing fully interactive digital learning experiences from scratch.
  • Creating original graphics, animations and video content to support our learning materials.
  • Supporting the design and running of our LMS, making sure learners get a seamless experience.
  • Creating and applying brand guidelines across our learning materials.
  • Working closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders to make sure everything we produce is technically spot on.
  • Proofreading and editing the work of others, providing constructive feedback where appropriate.
  • Creating graphics for our marketing team, as needed.
  • Monitoring learner feedback and performance.

What’s the Best Thing About This Role

This is a genuinely exciting time to join, as AI has opened up so many possibilities in the e-learning world! It’s an experimental role with a “fail fast, learn often, and move forward” mentality.

What’s the Most Challenging Thing About This Role

There can be tight turnarounds and competing deadlines, with multiple projects to manage at once. This is a fast-paced, busy role where you’ll need to hit the ground running.

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Previous experience in a similar e-learning, digital design or graphic design role.
  • Proficiency with eLearning authoring tools, such as Articulate Storyline 360 and Rise 360.
  • Solid skills in Adobe InDesign.
  • Experience using an LMS (we're open on which one).
  • A good understanding of how effective e-learning is created.
  • Genuine curiosity about new tech, especially AI-powered learning tools and how they can enhance the learner experience.

To be successful in this role, it would be great if you have:

  • Animation or video-editing experience.
  • Proofreading or copywriting experience.

We know it’s not a skill, but the successful candidate must have permission to work in the role’s location by the start of their employment.
