We’re looking for a Telephone Account Manager to join our Distribution Team, as part of the Retirement Solutions & Asset Management (RS&AM) function.
Job Type: Permanent
Location: This role can be based in either of our offices in London, Edinburgh or Birmingham (minimal expectation to travel). We recognise the benefits of flexible working and will discuss what is important to you and balancing this with business requirements during the recruitment process.

The role: Working alongside a field-based Senior Investment Development Manager, you will work with a panel of Financial Adviser firms to identify and secure profitable opportunities for the Standard Life Group. The objective of the role is to increase business levels across all aspects of the investment proposition primarily through virtual meetings with financial advisers across a specified region. These opportunities include both Standard Life's wholesale proposition and our Individual Retirement Solutions proposition.
What are we looking for?
- Experience, Knowledge and Skills (Essential)
- Experience within a similar telephony business development role with a demonstratable and successful track record ideally in Financial Services, with good technical knowledge of financial services market and solutions.
- Experience in engaging, maintaining and developing Financial Adviser relationships through telephone and virtual contact.
- Experience of working with and achieving targeted business activity; including meeting targets, identifying business needs, explaining our value proposition and following up within agreed timescales.
- Ability to create and deliver business plans for aligned area including defining strategic objectives to exceed national and business centre targets across all Pension and Investment products, identifying and realising regional opportunities for growth.
- Experience in analysing business plans, using panel and sales MI, and drive activity and future direction, to inform and evolve business plans for short, medium and longer term.
- High level knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices and able to articulate and present these.
