This role will be based in our London office or Birmingham office, with time spent travelling between our offices in Edinburgh & Telford. The role involves seeking an experienced Senior Trade Floor Support SME to join our Asset Management Technology Solutions team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting electronic trading platforms, preferably on the buy-side, though sell-side experience will also be considered. This role is primarily focused on application support for platforms including BlackRock Aladdin, Beacon, Bloomberg, Tradeweb, DTCC, Morningstar, and LSEG Workspace. Scripting skills are highly desirable, and experience with development languages such as Python, Java, or PowerShell is a bonus but not essential.
- Key responsibilities
- Technical Support & Issue Resolution
- Provide technical support for financial applications including BlackRock Aladdin, Bloomberg, Tradeweb, Beacon, DTCC, Morningstar, LSEG Workspace, Lipper, File Transfer systems, and Microsoft Excel.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to financial applications in a timely and efficient manner.
- Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues to minimise downtime.
- Automation, Integration & Development
- Basic scripting experience (e.g., SQL, Python, PowerShell) is desirable to support automation and troubleshooting.
- Leverage hands-on experience with Snowflake for cloud-based data warehousing, enabling scalable and efficient analytics solutions.
- Apply strong quantitative analysis skills to support data-driven decision-making and improve operational efficiency.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of AWS Cloud Infrastructure, contributing to cloud-based deployments, monitoring, and optimization of services.
- User Management & Collaboration
- Manage application access and user permissions across platforms.
- Collaborate with end-users to understand business needs and deliver tailored technical solutions.
- Conduct training sessions to improve user proficiency with financial tools and platforms.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and a knowledge base for troubleshooting and training purposes.
- Continuous Improvement & Industry Awareness
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in financial technology to continuously improve support capabilities and system performance.
- What we're looking for
- Experience within Financial Services and Asset Management.
- Knowledge and experience of trading floor applications.
- An experienced technology analyst with a track record of on-time delivery and quality.
- A career history that includes leading a technical area; a track record of delivering responsive, high quality and customer-focused services.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
- Solid understanding of financial markets and end-to-end trading processes.
- Proven experience supporting a major buy-side IBOR platform—BlackRock Aladdin preferred—alongside related technologies such as Bloomberg, Tradeweb, DTCC, Morningstar, and LSEG Workspace.
- Familiarity with cloud and data technologies (AWS, Snowflake) and scripting for automation (SQL, Python, PowerShell); experience with development languages like Java is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Bloomberg Essentials, BlackRock Aladdin Certification) are advantageous.
- Ability to manage multiple threads of work under pressure.
