We’re currently recruiting for a People Technology Transition Lead who will be accountable for the successful delivery of all People technology transition activities, including the movement of colleagues from Workday to Oracle HCM including Payroll. Acting as the day-to-day HR technology transition lead, the role provides end-to-end leadership across solution design, configuration, testing, data migration, interfaces and deployment to ensure a seamless colleague and operational experience. This role combines strong HR technology expertise with programme delivery leadership, working across business, IT, payroll, and third-party partners to translate business requirements into practical, scalable solutions. The role is highly accountable, hands-on and consultative, providing collaborative leadership across multiple workstreams while ensuring delivery aligns to strategic business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of HR technology transition activities, including the migration from Workday to Oracle HCM inc. Payroll.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership across design, configuration, build, testing, deployment, cutover, and hypercare activities.
  • Own the transition roadmap, delivery plans, risks, dependencies, and issue resolution across all HR technology workstreams.
  • Lead and coordinate with cross-functional teams comprising Business Analysts, Solution & IT Enterprise & Security Architects, HR SMEs, Payroll specialists, IT teams, data experts, and third-party delivery partners.
  • Translate business requirements into effective Oracle HCM inc. Payroll solutions, ensuring alignment to target operating model, regulatory requirements, and colleague experience objectives.
  • Establish and maintain People Technology design governance, ensuring solution decisions align to Oracle best practice, target architecture, data standards, security controls, and programme objectives.
  • Oversee data migration activities, including data mapping, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and migration readiness.
  • Direct the simplification, design, build, and testing of interfaces between Oracle and connected enterprise systems.
  • Drive system transition, user acceptance testing, payroll parallel runs, and deployment readiness, ensuring quality and delivery milestones are achieved.
  • Act as the primary point of day to day accountability for People technology transition decisions, balancing business needs, technical constraints, delivery timelines, and risk management.
  • Provide clear leadership, governance, and reporting to programme leadership and senior stakeholders, escalating risks and decisions where appropriate.
  • Build strong relationships across HR, IT, Information Security, Payroll, Change, and business teams, influencing stakeholders and driving alignment across competing priorities.
  • Ensure successful transition into business-as-usual operations through robust deployment, knowledge transfer, support arrangements, and operational readiness planning.
  • Hold third-party implementation partners accountable for quality, delivery, budget adherence and achievement of agreed outcomes.
  • Partner with HR & IT Change, Communications and Training teams to ensure business readiness, stakeholder adoption, process transition and successful embedding of new ways of working.

What are we looking for?

  • Deep expertise in HR technology transitions, specifically Workday to Oracle HCM migrations.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle HCM configuration principles and ability to balance business requirements with standardised platform capability.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes, payroll operations, data migration, system integrations, testing, and deployment practices.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and third-party partners in a complex transformation environment.
  • Experience transitioning technology programmes into sustainable business-as-usual operating models, including service support, governance and continuous improvement.
  • Highly accountable delivery leader who combines technical credibility with strong stakeholder management and consultative influencing skills.
  • Able to operate strategically while remaining hands-on in solving delivery challenges and removing barriers to execution.
  • Experience operating within regulated environments.

Essential

  • Led at least one large-scale HR technology implementation or migration programme of Workday to Oracle.
  • Experience of Oracle HCM Cloud & Workday implementations including Core HR, Compensation, Recruiting, Learning, Talent Management, Payroll, HR Helpdesk, ODA/AI and Workforce Administration.
  • Experience managing complex integrations with Finance, Identity and Enterprise Data platforms.
  • Experience working with outsourced delivery partners and managed service providers.
