The predicted salary is between 48400 - 58080 £ per year.

Job Type: Permanent

Location: This role could be based in either our Edinburgh or Wythall offices with time spent working in the office and at home.

The role

This role requires the incumbent to:

  • Apply their well-developed tax technical knowledge to support partnering with key stakeholders in the People Function, Finance, Legal, Company Secretariat and Group Procurement and Partner Management to ensure all employment tax risks are being identified, considered and managed;
  • Support with employment tax compliance activities and oversight for multiple areas including, compensation, benefits, expenses, share plans, global mobility and off-payroll workers;
  • Have an interest in learning/developing knowledge in payroll by supporting the payroll team each cycle, with the overall objective of ensuring employment tax obligations have been met for all transactions. This would include the provision of tax training to the payroll team and supporting the Payroll Manager with complex tax related queries.

The incumbent will report to the Head of Employment Tax with a ‘dotted line’ to the Payroll Manager.

What are we looking for?

  • Tax professional with solid practical experience in domestic UK employment taxes and global mobility, together with an awareness of issues arising in share plans.
  • Strong tax technical knowledge and highly developed analytical skills.
  • Ability to work at pace with a strong attention to detail and delivering accurate outputs.
  • Ability to be influential when communicating with key stakeholders and to be able to work collaboratively whilst demonstrating the Phoenix values.
  • Candidates with ATT, CTA or legal qualifications and dual experience from professional services and financial services industry background are preferred.
