Location: Birmingham, Edinburgh, London or Telford Offices - Hybrid, up to 3 days per week in the office

The Role: Join Phoenix Group’s newly expanded Accounting Operations Centre as a Financial Accounting Manager – a key leadership role driving transformation and excellence in financial reporting. As Financial Accounting Manager you’ll define the vision and own the accuracy of ledger data across all of our reporting bases and legal entities, drive process improvements, and lead a high‑performing team. This is a senior leadership role where you’ll shape strategy, deliver BAU and change, and strengthen controls to meet IFRS, SII, and UK GAAP standards.
What You’ll Do:
- Own the quality and completeness of general ledger data.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, SII, UK GAAP and Group Accounting Policy.
- Drive automation, reduce manual journals, and accelerate ledger close.
- Bring best practice experience to improve the accuracy and timeliness of IFRS reporting.
- Lead and develop your team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For:
- Fully qualified accountant with strong post‑qualification experience in financial services and technical accounting experience across multiple accounting bases.
- Proven leader with expertise in operational processes and change delivery.
- An appreciation of the impact of operational processes on downstream teams and the production of financial statements.
- Skilled in stakeholder management, data analysis, and report writing.
- Passion for transformation and building high‑performing teams.
