  • Monitor investment risk exposures across a broad range of asset classes, identifying emerging risks, trends and breaches.
  • Oversee delegated investment managers, ensuring adherence to mandates, risk limits and governance requirements.
  • Produce high-quality risk reporting for regulatory submissions, governance forums and senior stakeholders.
  • Support the development and enhancement of investment risk frameworks across AIFs, UCITS, NURS and segregated mandates.
  • Maintain risk registers, controls and governance documentation, escalating risk events and control weaknesses where required.
  • Represent the AIFM/AFM in governance forums and support responses to regulatory reviews and enquiries.
  • Partner with Portfolio Management and wider stakeholders to support fund oversight, manager reviews and strategic initiatives that deliver positive policyholder outcomes.

What are we looking for?

  • Significant experience in investment risk, fund risk oversight or portfolio management within an FCA-regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of AIFM requirements, AIFMD and broader investment risk management frameworks.
  • Experience across a range of asset classes, including multi-asset portfolios, derivatives and alternative/private market investments.
  • Strong understanding of portfolio risk analytics, including leverage, liquidity risk, stress testing and scenario analysis.
  • Knowledge of fund structures such as AIFs, UCITS and NURS, with an understanding of associated governance and risk considerations.
  • Experience of portfolio construction, asset allocation and investment manager oversight, including multi-manager or fund-of-funds structures.
  • Ability to translate complex risk information into clear, actionable insights that support investment performance, decision-making and positive customer outcomes.
