Salary and benefits: £40,500 to £65,000 plus 8% bonus up to 16%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more.

We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as an Actuarial Analyst in our Individual Annuity Pricing team.
We are looking for an individual to help support the ongoing pricing activities for Individual Annuity Products within Retirement Solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role and is expected to carry out a range of actuarial tasks and pricing activities across multiple products under appropriate guidance. This includes helping the team to build an improved understanding of our customer base and contributing to the pricing of annuity products to meet financial targets and growth aspirations.
What are we looking for?
- A part qualified actuary with a strong academic background and relevant experience in insurance, with a desire to be fully qualified – which will be support by the Phoenix Group.
- Analytical and quantitative abilities, with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Able to demonstrate good communication skills (verbally and written).
- Knowledge of individual annuity products, pricing concepts, calculations and actuarial sciences preferred.
- Being able to adapt to the requirements of different types of work by planning and organising effectively.
- Skilled with relevant software packages such as Excel and potentially VBA and Power BI.
- Motivated to build technical & business knowledge and continue own personal development.
Key Responsibilities
- To carry out investigations into the pricing competitiveness of our products using market insight data and to look for opportunities to optimise between profitability and competitiveness.
- Take responsibility in the production on a suite of pricing MI that provides insights into competitiveness and profitability.
- Implementation of pricing changes into the production environments.
- Assist on any pricing basis or assumption changes.
- Accurately produce a wide range of calculations used within pricing, analysing propositions and a range of business data to make recommendations to senior team members.
- To seek opportunities to develop existing tools to enhance capabilities and efficiencies. Support Senior Actuarial Analysts, Actuaries and other senior managers in their objective of meeting business and regulatory requirements, including communication of actuarial results and analysis.
