Location: Birmingham, Edinburgh, Telford or London offices - Hybrid, up to 3 days per week in the office

The Role
We’re looking for a Life Insurance Senior Accountant to join our new Accounting Operations Centre. In this leadership role, you’ll work closely with your manager and peers to drive accurate and timely ledger reporting for policyholder balances, oversee the activities of our customer outsourcers, implement ongoing regulatory change and drive process improvements that make a real impact.
What you’ll do:
- Ensure quality and completeness of policyholder ledger data across all entities.
- Oversee outsourcer performance and challenge SLAs/KPIs for better delivery.
- Own manual journal postings and reduce reliance on manual processes.
- Collaborate across teams to improve data feeds, automate controls, and accelerate ledger close.
- Lead and develop your team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
What we’re looking for:
- Fully qualified accountant.
- Operational experience in industry, in financial services/policyholder accounting.
- Strong knowledge of life insurance accounting and change delivery.
- Must have managed outsourcers to deliver key strategic goals.
- Must have a proven track record leading and developing a team.
- Excellent stakeholder management.
- Experience managing BAU alongside transformation initiatives.
