The Role As Head of Risk Strategy, you will join a forward-thinking line 2 team that seeks to integrate risk thinking into the heart of strategic decision making across the Group. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to have exposure to the senior management team in Phoenix and to provide insight and perspectives that will influence strategic thinking. The role will report to the Risk Strategy and Transformation Director and be part of a senior leadership team that is helping to redefine how a strong risk strategy can be a driver for value and growth. What are we looking for? Responsible for enterprise risk management framework (RMF) that aligns with the strategic objectives of the Group; and sets standards and principles for risk management that align with industry best practice and have a pragmatic application in the business. Lead and facilitate thinking with senior management to integrate internal and external risk considerations into strategic thinking and business planning processes; and work closely with colleagues in Risk to drive a cohesive consistent and simple way for the business to identify, assess and react to new and evolving internal and external factors that could impact the Group’s strategic objectives, business plan or operating model. Drive practices and reporting in the RMF that actively connect risk insights with what matters most to the business and supports high quality conversations and decision making. Lead on the communication of key risk information at an enterprise level which provides a crystal clear view on top and emerging risks; and lead on the messaging in external communications such as the Annual Report and Accounts. Lead and advocate a culture of strategic thinking in the Risk Function with strong focus on what matters most to the Group and driving innovative tech enabled solutions for risk managementThis includes enhanced forward-looking risk capabilities using data, scenario analysis, and macroeconomic modelling. Experienced in developing and executing enterprise-risk strategies that have a pragmatic application to the strategic objectives of the firm, its business plan and operating model Have strong familiarity with the regulatory requirements affecting risk management in life and pensions.
