Job Type: Permanent
Location: The role is hybrid, whereby the role holder can take advantage of our flexible working arrangements with a mix of working remotely, at home and working in an office environment. The teams are located in Birmingham, Edinburgh and Telford offices.

Salary and benefits: £80,000 - £110,000 depending on experience plus an indicative bonus range of 30-60%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more.

The role:
You and your team will be responsible for leading the financial reporting of the Group’s regulated life entities. You will lead across the finance teams, defining and receiving high quality inputs and supporting information to provide stakeholders with an assured end product. In addition, you will work directly with the Head of Entity Reporting to deliver upon the team strategy by championing and setting standards for cross team working and communication & to adopt best practice in the leadership and operation of the function.
Key objectives for the individual in this role will be:
- Provision of quarterly controlled IFRS and Solvency II data to group consolidation team
- Production of quality and timely submissions of solo Solvency II QRTs
- Production of quality GAAP entity financial statements
- Entity results explanation and financial controllership
- Entity board and other governance reporting
- Cross team leadership
- Engagement with internal and external audit, and timely closure of management actions
- BAU technical papers and local technical change for insurance entities
- Controls assessment, risk management and reporting
- Ownership for change (including regulatory change) and local process improvements, ensuring change is understood, appropriately tested and implemented safely.
- Operational management of pooled resources to ensure deliveries across the entity reporting team are met
What are we looking for?
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with post-qualification experience. Strong leadership to support the evolution of finance through the reshaping of how we work, building a team that is more efficient, structured, and accountable. Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting requirements in a financial services context, including IFRS, UK GAAP, and Solvency II, with attention to detail to help us ensure our numbers can be validated to the external market and both internal and external auditors. The ability to deliver in a high pressure environment whilst maintaining quality, resilience, and outcome focus. Regularly working to defined and tight timescales whilst maintaining professional standards. Ability to influence and challenge thinking at a senior level faced with a range of conflicting priorities and opinions, using exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to anticipate challenges and issues across a 1-3 year horizon for change, challenge and growth. Continually seeking to bring the 'outside in' and use external insight to shape the strategic and operational priorities, as well as the operating model of the business to build organisational excellence with industry leading standards.
