The role: We're currently recruiting for an Asset Management Compliance Manager who has extensive knowledge of UK and EU regulatory requirements related to asset management (UCITS, AIFMD, SDR). In this role, you will act as a specialist advising and supporting the Phoenix Private Markets business area as well as our in-house Fund Manager on financial services regulatory matters as well as proactively support the Senior Compliance Manager to lead all aspects of, and contribute to, effective governance processes and robust conduct risk management. You will collaborate closely with the First Line Risk & Compliance teams, Legal and Line 2 Financial Risk teams to improve procedures and controls, deliver training, and maintain strong connections with the wider Group Risk teams. This position is expected to provide and, as relevant, lead advice, independent opinion and assurance in alignment with the Group Risk's Mission to promote informed decision making and controlled risk-taking that improves customer outcomes and delivers long term value for shareholders.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide regulatory advice across a broad range of regulations and products, including FUND, SYSC, COBS, SDR.
- Monitor the Private Market Obligations as well conduct and Conflicts across the business area.
- Contribute to the ongoing strengthening of the compliance control framework including establishing new controls and writing new policies and procedures.
- Oversee core regulatory processes such as reporting, governance & oversight of external party activities.
- Undertake compliance testing on valuation governance, asset integrity and challenge committee decisions to ensure that corrective action is taken where necessary.
- Help prepare and deliver the annual compliance plan.
- Help prepare and deliver the annual compliance training program, deliver specialized content face to face as necessary.
- Contribute to the development and management of the suite of compliance policies and procedures in line with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Support and, as relevant, lead delivery of respective team's responsibilities under the Group Risk Annual Plan, to fulfil the Group Risk Mission and Mandate.
- Building close working relationships, gaining credibility and an appropriate level of influence in business areas.
What we're looking for:
- Sound knowledge of Alternative Funds, Structured Products Private Credit, Designated Investments and ability to understand and apply FCA regulations, especially FUND, SYSC, and COBS.
- Good Knowledge of current sustainable finance regulations in the UK (SDR).
- Degree or equivalent level of industry and technical experience.
