This community-based team works with people living in Derbyshire who are in recovery from drug and or alcohol use. The role focuses on linking clients with local recovery communities, teams, projects and mutual aid groups. You will work alongside 4 Recovery Connector workers, a Tier 4 Rehab Worker and a Lived Experience Pathway Coordinator, led by a Recovery Connector Team Manager. The core focus is helping people in recovery to engage and reconnect with structured recovery support, groups and activities within their local community, improve health, unlock potential and achieve personalised recovery goals.
Location
You will be based in our Ilkeston or Swadlincote office (whichever is closer to where you live). You can claim mileage for journeys around the area you work.
Responsibilities
- Deliver recovery-focused interventions to clients on your caseload.
- Engage clients in recovery-focused sessions and support them to attend local recovery support services, mutual aid meetings and recovery-led activities.
- Facilitate SMART meetings and other small recovery-oriented group work sessions (in person and online).
- Complete accredited SMART facilitator training.
- Advocate for clients, travel with them to appointments and meetings to build confidence and overcome barriers to accessing aftercare and community-based recovery support.
- Put the client at the centre of your work, helping them to achieve personal goals and completing strengths-based assessments and recovery plans together.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work with clients and update spreadsheets.
Qualifications & Skills
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good IT skills, proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Driving licence and access to a vehicle for work (required due to rurality of the region).
- Creative ideas for recovery groups/activities and a passion for supporting people to maintain long‑term abstinence/reduced use.
- Positive, motivating and proactive approach to work.
- Experience of working within the field of drug and alcohol use, and/or lived experience of recovery.

- Starting salary of £26,298, with potential yearly increments up to £28,000 per annum (pro rata).
