We are seeking an experienced Commercial Accountant to join our Finance team in Belfast. This role would be perfect for a part-qualified accountant with industry experience who wants to balance a traditional financial accountant role with a genuine opportunity to engage in the commercial side of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial and cost analysis

Prepare accurate, timely and detailed analysis of construction costs
Analyse capital and maintenance expenditure against budget and KPIs identifying trends and cost drivers and explaining key variances
Produce clear management reports and present financial and commercial performance with confidence to managers, and non-finance stakeholders.

Financial accounts and control

Support management accounts, year-end reporting and external and internal audit requirements, including the accurate reporting of contractor and engineering costs.
Assist with the annual budget and rolling forecasts, working with budget holder to ensure assumptions are robust.
Operate internal financial controls and recommend practical improvements.

Essential Qualifications

Part qualified accountant, with exams passed towards ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent.

Essential Experience

Industry finance experience, to include detailed cost and variance analysis; preparing balance sheet reconciliations and management accounts
Experience working with non-finance colleagues; such as supporting budget holders and presenting
