About the Role
Phoenix Dyslexia Consulting is seeking a reliable, professional and compassionate Specialist Note Taker to support a university student who is d/Deaf.
You will attend lectures, seminars and tutorials, producing clear and accurate electronic notes for the student. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the student can fully participate in university life and achieve their academic potential.
Responsibilities
- Attend lectures, seminars and tutorials on campus.
- Produce accurate, structured and accessible electronic notes.
- Submit notes promptly following sessions.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
- Liaise with Phoenix Dyslexia Consulting regarding support provision.
- Complete session records and timesheets accurately.
Essential Requirements
- Excellent written English and note-taking skills.
- Fast and accurate typing.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Confident using Microsoft Word and digital technology.
- Reliable, organised and punctual.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
Desirable
- Experience supporting disabled students.
- Experience working withd/Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals.
- Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive practice.
- Previous experience within education, support work, disability services or healthcare.
