You’ll own partnerships end-to-end – from market mapping and initial outreach through to commercial structuring, contract negotiation, partner onboarding and ongoing account management.
Reporting directly to the Chief Business Development Officer, this is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in Phlo’s commercial growth during an exciting stage of our scale-up journey, with a genuine opportunity to influence strategy, shape key partnerships and make a visible impact across the business. While the role is predominantly remote, it will involve regular travel to our Glasgow Head Office, alongside wider travel to partner and client sites across the UK to support relationship building, collaboration and commercial success.
The Job
- You’ll have autonomy to build and grow a high-value partnership pipeline, with the opportunity to work on high-value strategic partnerships that directly contribute to Phlo’s continued growth.
- Please note although the role will have account management and expansion responsibilities, 70% of the roles time and focus will be on business development and new partner growth.
- Identify, target and win new B2B partnership opportunities aligned to Phlo’s commercial and strategic objectives, proactively hunting new prospects across relevant sectors including healthcare providers, insurers, digital health platforms and strategic corporate partners.
- Build and manage a robust pipeline of qualified partnership opportunities, leading discussions from first contact through to contract signature, with ownership of the full commercial sales cycle.
- Develop commercial propositions tailored to partner needs, building and owning pricing models, financial business cases and commercial terms including pricing, margin and fees.
- Lead negotiations to secure commercially attractive, scalable and sustainable deals that create long-term value for both partners and patients.
- Act as the central point of accountability for partner onboarding and implementation, supporting Product, Technology and Operations teams through the full partner lifecycle.
- Hold senior ownership of key partner relationships post-launch, leading performance reviews and acting as point of escalation for delivery or operational issues to ensure successful long-term partnerships and continued commercial growth.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging partnership models within digital health, feeding learnings back into the wider commercial and product roadmap to help shape future business opportunities and innovation.
The Person
- You’ll be commercially ambitious, relationship-led and motivated by building meaningful partnerships in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
- Proven experience in B2B business development, partnerships or account management ideally within digital health, healthcare technology, SaaS or a related commercial environment, with a track record of delivering revenue growth and securing new business opportunities.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to build pricing models, financial business cases and structure complex deal terms.
- A hunter mentality – proactive, target-driven and comfortable leading the full sales cycle from prospecting through to close while building trusted, long-term client relationships.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple partnerships and workstreams simultaneously.
- Experience working cross-functionally with a variety of internal teams e.g. product, technology, marketing, data, operations and finance.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, scale-up environment where you’ll thrive on taking initiative and driving things forward with the ability to adapt quickly and spot opportunities for growth.
- A full UK Drivers license is essential for this role.
