Covering multiple sites: Hart Health Partnership, The Border Practice, Aldershot Centre for Health, Richmond Surgery. As an MSK First Contact Practitioner (Level 1) you will work within community GP settings, acting as the first point of patient contact. The role involves autonomous assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and onward referral for patients presenting with MSK conditions, including complex or chronic presentations.

As this is a contractor vacancy, you will work under the guidelines set out under IR35 including shift bidding, using your own equipment when appropriate, be responsible for your own accounts and taxes, and be responsible for maintaining your own business records/compliance documents.

Hourly Rate: £30

Your Day to Day:

  • Independently assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting with MSK conditions.
  • Formulate individualised treatment and management plans using advanced clinical reasoning.
  • Manage a designated caseload efficiently, prioritising clinical need.
  • Provide specialist MSK advice to patients, carers, physiotherapy colleagues and GPs.
  • Deliver both planned and spontaneous patient education to support understanding and engagement.
  • Use advanced manual therapy skills, investigative techniques and analytical skills for complex cases.
  • Coordinate referrals for diagnostics or secondary care services when required.
  • Maintain accurate and legally compliant clinical records.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and carers to maximise rehabilitation outcomes.
  • Assess capacity, obtain consent and work within relevant legal and professional frameworks.
  • Contribute to MDT training, teaching and clinical development where required.
  • Participate in the organisation’s CPD programme.
  • Represent the organisation at local, regional and national levels where appropriate.

Qualifications, Experience & Training:

Essential:

  • HCPC and CSP registered Physiotherapist.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience as a Physiotherapist with exposure to rotational roles in respiratory, MSK, and Neuro.
  • Experience in independent working and lone working.
  • Energetic and proactive, with the ability to work flexibly within a prison clinical setting.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Needs to be stage 1 qualified.
  • 5 years of MSK experience.

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate qualification such as MSc.
  • Experience working in a secure setting.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Microsoft Office.
