About PHIX
PHIX is a fashion brand built around strong design, cultural reference, and a clear point of view. Our aesthetic is rooted in 70s vintage and music culture, with an emphasis on tailoring, statement designs, elevated fabrics, and pieces that feel confident and considered rather than trend driven.
Over the years we’ve worked on licensed collaborations with David Bowie and The Rolling Stones, translating iconic cultural references into wearable, premium product. We’re continuing to build on that foundation, with new collaborations planned for 2026 and beyond alongside the ongoing development of our core collections.
As the brand has grown, it’s become clear that individual products can have a huge impact. One strong idea can shape an entire season. We’re now looking to add someone to the design team who can help us spot more of those opportunities and turn them into great product.
The Role
This is a design role first and foremost. We’re looking for a designer who enjoys coming up with their own ideas, but who is also curious about why certain products sell, how categories can be improved, and how successful styles can be evolved rather than constantly reinvented.
You’ll be designing new concepts, but you’ll also spend time looking at what’s already working within the range. That might mean developing new colourways, fabrics, or variations of existing products, or identifying gaps within categories that feel like natural extensions of the brand.
You’ll work closely with the Founder and Creative Director, alongside the wider design and production team, and be encouraged to bring ideas to the table proactively rather than waiting for briefs.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing new product ideas in line with the PHIX aesthetic
- Developing your own concepts from early idea through to development
- Looking at best-selling products and thinking about how they could be evolved or extended
- Identifying opportunities within existing categories
- Keeping an eye on cultural and social trends and translating relevant signals into product ideas
- Contributing to how collections are shaped and balanced
- Presenting ideas clearly, explaining both creative intent and practical thinking
This role suits someone who likes to think as well as design.
What We’re Looking For
- A designer with a strong visual eye and a clear sense of taste
- Someone drawn to 70s vintage, music culture, and culturally led fashion
- An interest in how product performs, not just how it looks
- Comfortable analysing existing designs and suggesting improvements or new directions
- Curious about how people wear and style clothing in real life
- Confident sharing ideas and open to discussion and feedback
- Keen to grow their role and responsibility over time
What This Role Is Not
- Not a pure execution role
- Not a trend-chasing role
- Not a production or management position
The focus is on design, ideas, and opportunity.
Working Pattern
UK head office (Manchester)
Why This Role Is Interesting
- Work on culturally meaningful product
- Be involved in shaping collections rather than just executing them
- Learn how strong fashion ideas turn into commercially successful products
- Contribute to future high-profile collaborations
- Be part of a brand that values craft, patience, and long-term thinking
If you’re a designer who wants more creative involvement and a closer connection to the bigger picture, we’d love to hear from you.
