PHIX is a fast-growing British premium menswear brand inspired by rock ’n’ roll, music, tailoring and iconic cultural style.
Our collections are worn by musicians and creatives around the world, and we have collaborated with globally recognised names including The Rolling Stones and David Bowie.
We’re now looking for a Junior Fashion Designer & Product Development Assistant to join our creative team and work across the entire process of bringing new collections to life.
This is a highly hands-on role.
You’ll work directly with our founder, designers, suppliers and production team, from researching a new silhouette or vintage reference through to developing tech packs, fitting samples, selecting fabrics and refining the final garment before production.
For someone at the beginning of their fashion career who is ambitious, creatively obsessed and wants to learn quickly, it’s an opportunity to gain an unusually broad level of experience.
The Role You’ll work across both fashion design and product development, helping us develop future PHIX collections from initial idea through to finished product.
One day you might be researching vintage tailoring and developing concepts for a new jacket.
The next you could be measuring samples, updating a tech pack, reviewing fabrics or trims, communicating changes to a manufacturer or preparing a collection presentation.
You won't be limited to one small part of the process. You'll see how products are actually created, developed, refined and eventually sold around the world.
- What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting the design and development of upcoming PHIX menswear collections
- Researching silhouettes, vintage garments, fabrics, colours and cultural references
- Helping turn initial creative concepts into commercially viable products
- Creating and updating tech packs, specifications and design documents
- Using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to develop product concepts and presentations
- Reviewing samples and assisting with fittings, measurements and garment refinement
- Communicating with manufacturers regarding samples, fabrics, trims and amendments
- Sourcing and organising fabrics, trims, labels and development samples
- Creating moodboards, collection boards and visual presentations
- Maintaining organised product information and development records
- Supporting special collaborations, launches and new product categories
- Using modern tools, including AI, to make research, development and workflows faster and better
Who We’re Looking For We care more about taste, potential, curiosity and attitude than having a long CV.
You might be a recent fashion graduate, currently working in your first fashion role, or someone with a small amount of industry experience who wants significantly more creative responsibility.
What matters is that you genuinely care about clothes.
You notice proportions.
You care about the shape of a collar, the weight of a fabric and the difference a few centimetres can make to the silhouette of a jacket.
You naturally save references, research designers and vintage clothing, and have your own point of view on what makes a product great.
You’ll ideally be
- Genuinely passionate about fashion, menswear, music and visual culture
- Creative with a strong eye for proportion, colour, silhouette and detail
- Confident using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Familiar with tech packs and garment specifications
- Interested in garment construction, fabrics and product development
- Highly organised and comfortable managing several projects at once
- Proactive and comfortable taking ownership of your work
- Curious and constantly looking for new references and ideas
- Open to feedback and motivated to improve quickly
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment
Previous experience within a fashion brand, design studio, supplier or product development team is an advantage, but we will consider exceptional candidates without extensive commercial experience.
Why PHIX?
PHIX offers something that can be difficult to find early in a fashion career: genuine exposure to the entire product development process and direct access to the people making the decisions.
You’ll have the opportunity to
- Work directly on products that will actually go into production
- Be involved from initial concept through to final garment
- Work closely with the founder and senior creative team
- Learn directly from fittings, sampling and manufacturing
- Contribute ideas rather than simply execute instructions
- Work on internationally recognised music and cultural collaborations
- Develop quickly as the company grows
- Have a visible impact on future PHIX collections
We believe good ideas can come from anyone in the team.
If you discover an incredible vintage reference, have an idea for a new product or think something could be designed better, we want to hear it.
About PHIX PHIX creates distinctive premium menswear influenced by music, culture and timeless style.
Our approach combines vintage references with modern proportions, elevated fabrics and strong attention to detail to create products that feel distinctive without becoming costume.
As PHIX continues to grow internationally, we’re building a creative team with the ambition to develop an internationally recognised British fashion brand.
