We are supporting a UK-wide financial services firm in the search for a high-calibre, commercially focused Head of Finance to lead the finance function in the Greater Bristol Area. Backed by a leading private equity investor, the business has recently completed a series of acquisitions and is continuing to pursue an ambitious growth strategy.
This role offers the opportunity to join at a key strategic inflection point, as the business accelerates investment across its core operations and explores new commercial opportunities. The Head of Finance will act as a key strategic partner to the CFO and senior executive team, with responsibility for financial leadership across broader group finance initiatives.
Core Responsibilities- Lead all FP&A activities, providing regular insights to support informed business decision-making
- Oversee the day-to-day leadership, management, and development of the finance function
- Partner closely with the wider management team to support execution of the company’s business plan
- Ensure adherence to group reporting timelines, including the preparation of monthly management accounts and delivery of supporting MI to the Board and Group
- Take ownership of financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and high data quality
- Present regular performance updates to senior leadership, including business plans and quarterly reforecasts
- Fully qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven leadership experience within a finance function, ideally in a PE or VC backed environment
- Commercially focused, with an entrepreneurial and solutions-oriented mindset
- Strong technical and analytical capability, with the ability to deliver accurate reporting alongside forward-looking budgets and forecasts
- Experienced business partner, able to collaborate effectively with non-finance stakeholders
- Financial services experience is not essential. However, experience within a regulated, high-volume, and transactional environment would be highly advantageous.
