UK Finance Director β Hull, Hybrid Working 3 days a week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Director to join a dynamic, growing business based on the outskirts of Hull.
This is a pivotal role within the Senior Leadership Team, requiring a finance professional who combines technical expertise with strong commercial acumen. You will be responsible for leading the UK finance function, embedding forward-looking financial planning, and ensuring the function is a trusted partner to the wider business.

Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and develop the UK finance team, setting clear objectives and ensuring delivery of high-quality outputs
- Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting, analysis, and commentary to support both operational and strategic decision-making
- Own the budgeting and forecasting process, introducing best-in-class FP&A practices to provide forward-looking insight
- Partner closely with senior leaders across the business, challenging assumptions and influencing decision-making to drive performance
- Oversee statutory reporting, group audit and tax compliance, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
- Manage cash flow and treasury activities, maintaining strong banking relationships and ensuring liquidity is optimised
- Regularly review cost structures, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency while supporting quality and delivery standards
- Implement and maintain robust financial controls, governance, and compliance with relevant regulations
- Drive continuous improvement across systems, reporting processes and project profitability analysis
- Act as a trusted adviser to the Senior Leadership Team, providing commercial input on investment decisions, pricing, and growth initiatives
About you
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualified experience
- Strong technical knowledge of financial and management reporting, audit and compliance
- Commercially astute with proven ability to partner with non-finance stakeholders and influence decision-making
- Track record of implementing forward planning (FP&A), budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis
- Leadership skills with experience in building and developing high-performing finance teams
- Advanced Excel skills and exposure to system/process improvement
