The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 £ per hour.
* Design and development of fuel components, assigned to either liquid or gaseous fuel pump, injector, or system teams.
* Devising and executing test and analysis work on fuel injection equipment rigs, engines, and vehicles.
* Contributing to formal and informal design and development reviews at appropriate stages of projects.
* Writing reports and presenting results to internal and external audiences.
* Understanding the risks/gaps to support the generation of a pump validation plan.
* Help develop internal tools, processes & procedures to support effective site working practices.
* Organise the procurement and testing of sample hardware to meet project requirements.
* Provide support to Systems Integration and Engine Calibration teams.
* Update and maintain the KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) for the component and system validation team.
* Update and maintain documentation and forms for IATF16949 audits compliance.
* Exposure to DFMEA, tolerance stack analysis, geometrical tolerancing.
* Opportunity to get involved in additive manufacturing, traditional manufacturing, machining, casting, etc.
* Personal and presentation skills to enable liaison with internal teams and to represent PHINIA to external clients.
* Current IT knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and understanding of the capabilities of CAD and FEA packages.
* Good written and spoken fluency in English.
* Proven understanding of the principles of physics and mechanical engineering.
* Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage several tasks at once.
* Familiarity with fluid dynamics and metal fatigue principles.
* Ability to work as part of a team whilst showing self-motivation and initiative.
* Motivated and able to work, present and communicate within all areas of the organization from shop floor to management.
* Good organisational skills – managing multiple projects at once.
