We are currently working with a multi-academy trust in Bromley that is looking for a SENCO to join one of their schools on a full-time basis from September.

The role

As the SENCO, you will be responsible for coordinating all support for children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) and developing the school’s SEND Policy to ensure all children receive a consistent, high-quality response to their needs. The school values its diverse community, and the successful SENCO will be willing to fully integrate into the school\’s community.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring parental involvement in supporting their child\’s learning, including planning, regular updates, and reviews
• Liaising with outside agencies such as Speech and Language Therapy, Educational Psychologists, therapists, etc.
• Updating the school’s SEND records and maintaining detailed records of pupils\’ progress and needs
• Providing specialist support for teachers and support staff
• Collaborating with class teachers to write Personal Learning Plans (PLPs) with specific targets for individual pupils
• Preparing Education, Health and Care Plans
• Organising staff training to ensure staff are confident in meeting pupils\’ needs
