Special Needs Teaching Assistant full-time and part-time work opportunities in EYFS and Primary Schools with SEND students in London. £89 - £105 per day.
We are currently recruiting Special Needs Teaching Assistants to support students with SEND needs. Opportunities are available in schools supporting children and young people with a range of learning and development needs including:
- Autism: As a teaching assistant for students with Autism, you will support students across various learning and development activities. An adaptable and confident attitude is essential, as well as the ability to build relationships quickly, establish routines, and communicate clearly.
- PMLD (Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties): Your role will combine personal care support, including feeding and physical support, alongside developmental activities. Most children will be non-verbal and unable to walk unaided. This is an excellent opportunity for those with previous experience in a care setting.
- Behavioural Needs (SEMH): Students with behavioural and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs require a nurturing and supportive learning environment. You will help students develop their day-to-day and academic skills, build self-esteem, and regulate emotions. Training is provided to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour.
While an understanding of SEN is helpful, many teaching assistants gain experience on the job with training and guidance from teachers and school leaders.
We are looking for Special Needs Teaching Assistants who can commit to full-time and part-time positions (8.30am to 4.00pm Mon - Fri) for the full academic year. We welcome applications from:

You will need an Enhanced DBS certificate to work with children (we can assist you in obtaining one) and 2 references covering the past two years. A caring, dedicated, and professional approach to working with young children with special educational needs is essential.
