Midday Mealtime Supervisor – SEND School
Location: Sidcup, Borough of Bexley
Hours: 11:30 am – 1:30 pm, Monday to Friday
Pay: £13.69 per hour
Contract: Full-time and part-time opportunities available
We are working in partnership with a special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) school in Sidcup to recruit a caring and reliable Midday Mealtime Supervisor.
This role involves supporting students during the lunchtime period in a specialist setting, working with pupils with autism, Down syndrome, complex needs, and behavioural difficulties. You will help ensure a safe, calm, and positive mealtime experience while promoting independence and positive social interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise students during lunch and break times
- Support pupils with eating, social interaction, and personal care where required
- Encourage positive behaviour and model appropriate social skills
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students at all times
- Assist with transitions between classroom, dining, and playground areas
- Work closely with teaching and support staff to maintain a structured environment
The Ideal Candidate
- Patient, calm, and compassionate
- Confident supporting children or young people with SEND
- Able to manage behaviour in a positive and consistent manner
- Reliable and punctualPrevious experience in a SEND or school setting is desirable but not essential
Compliance & Safeguarding
- Enhanced DBS check (on the Update Service or willingness to apply)
- Right to work in the UK
- Two professional references
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- Completion of required safeguarding and compliance training prior to placement
